about

"Wile E. Coyote submerged the steel forcefield tangled in a mass
of vines and revolving demispheres. A planet of astro turf. Magnetic rotary bolts blistering in the green sun of airplane garden avenues. Solar coins drop where the river started...."

Tulsa music scene vets, Daniel Sutliff (And There Stand Empires, Damezumari, etc.) and Craig Miracle (Thirty Called Arson, Damezumari, etc.) "The Grass Planet Museum" is a meticulously crafted math rock album that is a non stop roller coaster of intricate chops and shreds, amalgamating to an utterly euphoric, endorphin releasing soundscape where within, the story of The Grass Planet Museum unfolds. The upbeat moments in songs are juxtaposed with tension building, near anxious (dare I say, occasionally tipping dissonant?) segments that allow for every facet of their sound to be highlighted to a supreme degree. The soaring highs of songs feel so much higher, while the sonic trenches feel so much trudgier through these tasteful juxtapositions.

The musicianship of Daniel and Craig is exceptional, and the dynamic between the two and their playing is superb. Throughout the album, you can hear them testing each other's musical ability, with neither ever failing to deliver. Delicious synth ornamentation arrives at always the right times, further enriching the overall listening experience rather than distracting from or conflicting with the "traditional instruments" that hold the forefront of the album.

The Grass Planet Museum is sure to deliver for any fan of the overarching math rock umbrella, with influences of jazz, metal, and prog all being present throughout it. The quality of this release as a whole is undeniable.
