The long awaited BLONK 281 split! dammit oh shit fuck
Tulsa's notorious and local-fav punks, Søaker, link up with elusive noise rockers/lurkers, Scatter Girls! (formerly known as Canker Sore, formerly-formerly known as Safety Patrol, formerly-formerly-formerly known as Sinus Pressure, formerly-formerly-formerly-formerly known as Folsom Point; they swear they're not changing their name again) for a split cassette dedicated to POP PUNK'S ULTIMATE EVER-OVERLORDS, BLONK-281.
Featuring two tracks from both bands, as well as each bands take on BLONK'S HIT 90'S POP PUNK SINGLE, DAMMIT. This split is sure to tickle the ears of any listener sweet enough to humor the bands.
But on a slightly more serious note, this split rips. Søaker provides two very distinct, original, new tracks that any fan of punk and/or garage would love, as well as an endearing cover of "Dammit" that not only has synths but a kazoo too! Søaker ALWAYS kicks ass, anyone who floats around the Tulsa punk and DIY scene already knows this. Great people, great music.
This is technically Scatter Girls! first ever "official" release besides the live cassette bootleg of their Metro Station "Control" cover that was featured on the Cult Love & Friends Vol. 1 compilation, though they've played live around Tulsa under various noisy aliases (see above) for the last year and a half. Their side features a Rico Nasty cover (Smacca Bitch Prod Kenny Beats), an original track, and a horribly botched cover of "Dammit" (technically, a cover of Søaker's cover of "Dammit").
Quality and light heartedness from some of Tulsa's finest. ENJOY!
It's alright to tell me what you think about me
I won't try to argue or hold it against you
I know that you're leaving, you must have your reasons
The season is calling, your pictures are falling down
The steps that I retrace, the sad look on your face
The timing and structure, did you hear he fucked her?
A day late, a buck short, I'm writing the report
On losing and failing, when I move, I'm flailing now
And it's happened once again, I'll turn to a friend
Someone that understands, and sees through the master plan
But everybody's gone, and I've been here for too long
To face this on my own, well, I guess this is growing up
Well, I guess this is growing up
And maybe I'll see you at a movie sneak preview
You'll show up and walk by on the arm of that guy
And I'll smile and you'll wave, we'll pretend it's okay
The charade, it won't last, when he's gone, I won't come back
And it'll happen once again, you'll turn to a friend
Someone that understands and sees through the master plan
But everybody's gone, and you've been there for too long
To face this on your own, well, I guess this is growing up
Well, I guess this is growing up
Well, I guess this is growing up
Well, I guess this is growing up
Well, I guess this is growing up
Well, I guess this is growing up
