Featuring former and present members of Lizard Police, Blurt, Holy Void, Senior Fellows, and other Tulsa punk adjacent bands, DICED, is an Oklahoma hardcore punk supergroup and their demo (recorded by the man Tip Crowley of Soaker and mixed and mastered by Bob Hensley of Operator Dead: Post Abandoned, so more Tulsa royalty) is just as good as to be expected based on the individuals writing it and producing it.

With roots more set in traditional punk music than a lot of present Oklahoma hardcore, DICED plays very upbeat, aggravated, circle mosh and floor punch stylized hardcore punk. Not to say that you couldn't throw the fuck down to some of their songs, but they are certainly sonically distinguished from much of the current OKHC scene. Less breakdown fueled, bow throwing and far more fast paced, circle pitting; if mosh language counts as any sort of music descriptor, haha.

The demo undeniably rips (fat, heavy bass lines, crisply distorted guitar riffs, classic, catchy drumming, fabulously aggressive vocals; what's not to love?) and is arguably the most anticipated release from any Tulsa based project this year. Any fan of punk or hardcore would have a very hard time not falling in love with DICED. In many ways, it's kind of a perfect hardcore punk release and exactly what any fan of the genre would seek out from a band and has all the traits and stylings that probably made people fans of the genre in the first place. Extremely high level of repeated listenability, a superb album to show to new and old fans of the genre. An album that could restore faith in a jaded old head and simultaneously be a young person's introduction to hardcore punk.
