Cult Love is ecstatic to bring you the cassette release of the northwest's hyperpop and digicore internet stars, capoxxo and mayh3mp, first ever collaborative tape, "Persona". A fabulous, catchy showcase of the innovation and creative power within the dynamic of two young artists that are pushing the envelope of what will be tomorrow's hit music.

For those who have been monitoring and keeping up with the current state and scene of contemporary "internet music", capoxxo and mayh3mp are certain to have been on their radar. Music trends of the future are increasingly pointing towards the rise and influence of the gen z spear headed genres, digicore and hyperpop, a collage of hip hop, electronic, and pop influences that also integrates more niche cyber sounds and genres, such as nightcore. Similarly to the soundcloud renaissance of ~2011-14 with collectives such as Raider Klan, Metro Zu, and Goth Money, who would later become some of the most influential artists' of their decade, soundcloud's digicore and hyperpop scene is sculpting the music of tomorrow, and two of its notable artists are capoxxo and mayh3mp.

"Persona" is the result of exponentially increasing occurrences of collaborations between capoxxo and mayh3mp since their song "tris" came out in 2021. The two had a natural cohesion in their sounds that was apparent right off the jump from their early work together. Over the last year, they have more and more frequently collaborated and their creative dynamic has only strengthened. "Persona" is a five song tape highlighting capoxxo and mayh3mp's ability to work together. The album leans further in to the emotive, so-called emo-rap, influence of the two lyrically and sonically throughout, and less in to the trap, 808 ladened sound that has been present in some of their previous work. In fact, every song except for "passion/la way too long" features the emo-rap staple of a guitar sample in the production. However, each track, though cohesive all together, is completely distinguishable from each other and the tape lacks any sort of monotony or low points. "Persona" is a banger through and through and a superb showcase of two of the internet's most important underground artists right now. A must listen.
